1994 Movies

Welcome to the “back lot” of South Dakota, the Back Lot 605 Podcast! This week on Episode 69 (and no we are not above making a 69 joke), we take a trip back in time to the year 1994. A year considered by many to be one of the best, and most influential, in film history. 1994 movies include the releases of Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump, The Shawshank Redemption, The Lion King, Clerks, Ace Ventura, Speed, Interview with the Vampire, and the list goes on! Take a trip back with us, as we take a look back at 1994 movies.


The Box Office

The Invisible Man was quite visible at the box office opening at number one with $29 million. At number two is Sonic the Hedgehog with $16 million. The Call of the Wild drops to the number three spot with $13.2 million. My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising opens at an impressive $5.1 million. Bad Boys for Life rounds out the box office with $4.3 million.

The News

Director Colin Trevorrow announces the official title of the Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom follow up to be titled Jurassic World: Dominion. The film releases everywhere June 11, 2021.

Creed III has found a new writer in King Richard scribe Zach Baylin. A director has yet to be announced.

Train to Busan: Peninsula releases the first official poster. The film has a limited release on August 20, 2020.

The Jordan Peele written and produced Candyman film, directed by Nia DaCosta, gets it’s first poster and official trailer. Candyman hits theaters June 12, 2020.

Casey Kelderman found a love for film at a very early age. One of his earliest memories of watching movies was the original Star Wars trilogy on VHS. Casey graduated from The University of Sioux Falls in 2017. At USF Casey produced weekly movie reviews and hosted a radio show. He graduated with a degree in Media Studies. His favorite films include Halloween, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Die Hard.
