2020 Sno Jam Comedy Fest (Featuring Nathan Hults)

On this episode of the Back Lot 605 Podcast. This week joining us is local comedian Nathan Hults, one of the founders of the Sno Jam Comedy Fest. Sno Jam will be January 23-25 at Boss’s Comedy Club, Remedy Brewing, and Books N Brewz in Sioux Falls, SD. The event features comedians from around the world in one of the most unique events in the state of South Dakota. The Box Office

1917 tops this weekend’s box office with $36.5 million. The Sam Mendes directed film tops previous box office champ Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The Rise of Skywalker takes in $15 million for the weekend. At number three is Jumanji: The Next Level with $14 million. Like A Boss opens at number four with $10 million. Lastly, Just Mercy takes the number five spot with $10 million.

The News

Christian Bale (Vice, The Dark Knight) is in talks to join Thor: Love and Thunder in a yet undisclosed role. Rumors are also circulating that his American Hustle co-star Jennifer Lawrence is also in talks to join the film. In further Marvel news, Scott Derrickson (Sinister, Doctor Strange) has parted ways as the director of Doctor Strange 2. It is said that they have parted over creative differences.

This week saw the first look at the Jared Leto (Suicide Squad, Dallas Buyer’s Club) lead Morbius film. The film is based on the comic book character Morbius the Living Vampire, a popular Spider-Man villain. From what is seen in the trailer the film might connect Sony and Marvel’s comic book universes.

It: Chapter Two director Andy Muschietti in talks to direct The Howling remake for Netflix. The original film was released in 1981 and directed by Joe Dante (Gremlins).

In casting news, Nicholas Hoult (Warm Bodies, Dark Phoenix) is in talks to join the next two Mission Impossible films. Lastly, Timothee Chalamet (Little Women) has been cast as Bob Dylan in James Mangold (Walk the Line) biopic.
