Happy Holidays everyone. Due to the holiday we recorded this episode early. Because of this, we were not able to provide the box office numbers on the podcast. However, you can check out the opening weekend numbers for Aquaman, Bumblebee, and Mary Poppins Returns here. Instead of box office numbers, we take a dive into the critic and fan scores for these films.
Bumblebee is the highest rated Transformers movie, with a Tomato score higher than Aquaman. Both franchises have not exactly had the best track records, but still bring in big box office numbers. Mary Poppins drops in for the sequel decades too late. Second Act and Welcome to Marwen are tanking in the box office.
Hollywood dropped a couple trailers on this week. We had the opportunity to get not one, but two new Men in Black: International trailers! Both of these previews to the movie prove the type of chemistry that Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson really do have.
The Hellboy reboot trailer leaks online, with Lionsgate releasing the trailer a day later. What did the guys think of the David Harbour lead reboot? We get the first look into the “human” version of Will Smith‘s Genie for the upcoming live action Aladdin. As well as the first look at Princess Jasmine and Abu.
Hobbs and Shaw get a new title, Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw. Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham spin off on their own and get an official release date of August 2nd, 2019. Fast and Furious 9 gets their official release date of April 10th, 2020. No official word on title.
