Hello listeners and welcome to Bat-Month here on Back Lot 605, where each week of the month of March we are covering a film in the caped crusader Batman’s filmography. This week we are joined by original BEST FRIEND of the show Andy Heller of Fat Dude Digs Flicks to discuss the seminal Batman classic in Tim Burton’s 1989 film Batman. Set in the urban slums of Gotham City, a masked vigilante known as the Batman (Michael Keaton) sparks fear in the hearts of the criminals of the city. When a plot to change the dynamics of the criminal underworld go array, a new crime boss known simply as The Joker (Jack Nicholson) begins to terrorize Gotham, and vies for the heart of the beautiful photojournalist Vicki Vale (Kim Basinger). A final confrontation between the Batman and The Joker leads to the uncovering of a mystery that proves they’re paths were destined to cross, maybe forever. Batman is directed by Tim Burton, and stars Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson, Kim Basinger, Billy Dee Williams, and Michael Gough.
