Set in the urban slums of Gotham City, a masked vigilante known as the Batman (Michael Keaton) sparks fear in the hearts of the criminals of the city. When a plot to change the dynamics of the criminal underworld go array, a new crime boss known simply as The Joker (Jack Nicholson) begins to terrorize Gotham, and vies for the heart of the beautiful photojournalist Vicki Vale (Kim Basinger). A final confrontation between the Batman and The Joker leads to the uncovering of a mystery that proves they’re paths were destined to cross, maybe forever. Batman is directed by Tim Burton, and stars Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson, Kim Basinger, Billy Dee Williams, and Michael Gough.
