Batman Forever – Batman Series

In week three of Bat-Month on Back Lot 605, we are joined by first time guest Larry Fried of the ”My Favorite Movie Is” Podcast to discuss the first and only outing of Val Kilmer as the Dark Knight in 1995’s Batman Forever! We discuss the drastic change in tone from Tim Burton’s previous two entries, to the vibrant Joel Schumacher films. We also take a look at why this film is often the forgotten Batman film by fans, and how the film has had a reappraisal in the last few years. Follow My Favorite Movie is online at Batman Forever is directed by Joel Schumacher, and stars Val Kilmer as Bruce Wayne, Chris O’Donnell as Robin, Jim Carrey as The Riddler, Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face, and Nicole Kidman as Chase Meridian. The film follows the caped crusader on his quest to stop the infamous Harvey Two-Face and his rampant crime spree. Along the way, Batman creates a new foil in Edward Nigma, a man obsessed with becoming Bruce Wayne. After a tragic accident, Dick Grayson joins Batman by his side as Robin to fight the nefarious duo of Two-Face and The Riddler.
