Cinema Falls 2020 Oscar Nominated Shorts Interview

Cinema Falls has been the home of independent and art house cinema in Sioux Falls, SD for nearly a decade. This has been the baby of Julie Anderson Friesen, and has lead to this year’s 2020 Oscar Nominated Shorts event. This event is held every year in Sioux Falls, one week before the airing of the Academy Awards.

This year’s event will be held on February 1st and 4th, at the Orpheum Theater and West Mall 7 theater respectively. The first night includes the Oscar nominated live action and animated shorts. This event starts at 3:30 PM beginning with the animated shorts, followed by the live action films. The event on the 4th showcases the five nominees for documentary shorts at the 2020 Academy Awards.

Joining on this episode is Julie from Cinemafalls to discuss the 2020 Oscar Nominated Shorts event. We look at some of this year’s selections and some of her favorite’s from this year’s films. We also discuss the success of Cinema Falls’ previous screening of Parasite, which drew over 400 attendees.
