The crew at Back Lot 605 returns for the week to discuss the latest news and the 2019 Academy Awards.

How to Train your Dragon 3 opens big with $55 million at the box office. It flies in and takes first place at the box office. Alita Battle Angel continues to struggle stateside, but overseas markets are flocking to the film.

This weeks news was Netflix heavy beginning with Chris Hemsworth’s casting as Hulk Hogan. The wrestling biopic will be direct by Todd Phillips, his next project after this summer’s Joker film.

Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson will play Texas Rangers in The Highway Men. Their task is to capture of the infamous Bonnie and Clyde.

Netflix is jumping on the wagon and making their music biopic. The Dirt is the story of 1980’s hair metal bad boys, Motley Crue. The film is based on the best selling novel from the band.

Vincent D’Onofrio is getting behind the camera to give us The Kid. The story of the infamous outlaw will see D’Onofrio re-team with Magnificent Seven co-stars Chris Pratt and Ethan Hawke.

Rocketman drops another trailer and shows us that Taron Edgerton IS Elton John. He has the glitz, glamour, and the singing chops to pull this off. Could this film do for Edgerton what it did for Rami Malek in Bohemian Rhapsody?

A Quiet Place

John Krasinski will not only be writing the sequel to ‘A Quiet Place, but it looks like we also will get to see him direct again. ‘A Quiet Place’ was a sleeper hit that no one saw coming. Krasinski’s wife, co-star Emily Blunt is set once again to star in the sequel.

Space Jam 2 gets an official release date of July 16, 2021. Chris, Brian, & Casey all debate the question of it Ryan Coogler should be directing this or Black Panther 2. Chris and Brian know that they are right! Drop a comment and let us know!
