Fan Casting the X-Men for the MCU

Welcome to the 30th episode of the Back Lot 605 Podcast! This week Casey and Brian are joined on the show after a month long hiatus, Chris S. Together the Schmuck Club take on the X-Men. Not in battle, rather in casting a new team of super mutants. This week the Back Lot crew decide to fan cast the X-Men for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The Box Office

Godzilla is king of the box office with a $49 million opening for Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The film narrowly edges out Aladdin, who had a $42 million second weekend. Rocketman and Ma exceed expectations and opening with a $25 and $18 million opening respectively.

The News

Disney and Pixar have released the first teaser trailer for Onward. The animated flick stars Tom Holland and Chris Pratt star as elf brothers on a quest to discover if magic still exists.

Joel Kinnaman has confirmed that his character Rick Flag will return in The Suicide Squad. Flag was the leader of the Squad in the 2016 Suicide Squad film.

Matthew Vaughn confirms that Kingsman 3 will be the end of Eggsy and Harry’s storyline. Taron Egerton and Colin Firth have played the two characters respectively in both Kingsman films.

Finally, the first trailer for Rambo: Last Blood showcases Sylvester Stallone as the legendary John Rambo. The film is set to be the last chapter in the Rambo franchise. Last Blood hits theaters September 19.

The Schmuck Club Fan Casts the X-Men

Casey, Brian, and Chris each come up with an individual list of team members for the X-Men. These members include Professor X, Magneto, Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Beast, and one other character of their choice. These characters will fit into the MCU and eventually meet the characters that are already within the franchise. The three will then decide on an official Back Lot 605 fan cast X-Men team for the MCU! We want to know who would you cast? Sound off in our comments!
