The Box Office

Bad Boys for Life tops the box office this weekend with an impressive $59 million opening. In second is Dolittle, with a $22.5 million opening. 1917 takes the number three spot with $22.1 million. At number four is Jumanji: The Next Level with $9.5 million. Rounding out the top five is Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker with $8.3 million.

The News

Taika Waititi has entered talks to direct a Star Wars film. Waititi has previously worked as an actor and director on the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. Disney has re-branded the Fox Studios brand from both 20th Century and Searchlight. Both will now be under the titles 20th Century Pictures, and Searchlight Pictures. Lastly, Billie Eilish will write and perform the theme to the next James Bond film, No Time to Die.

Casey Kelderman found a love for film at a very early age. One of his earliest memories of watching movies was the original Star Wars trilogy on VHS. Casey graduated from The University of Sioux Falls in 2017. At USF Casey produced weekly movie reviews and hosted a radio show. He graduated with a degree in Media Studies. Skills he learned in college have allowed him to help create Back Lot 605. He has produced and directed 4 short films. His favorite films include Halloween, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Die Hard.
