Our Most Anticipated Films of 2020

Happy New Year and welcome to the Back Lot 605 Podcast! On this episode, hosts Casey Kelderman and Brian Mensing are joined by fellow South Dakota film fan Chris S. to discuss our most anticipated films of 2020! We discuss our top ten films that we are most looking forward to seeing in the new year. What 2020 films are you most excited to check out?

The Box Office

Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker tops this weekends box office with a $72.3 million second week. At number two comes Jumaji: The Next Level with $35.3 million. Frozen II takes the third place spot with $16.8 million. Little Women brings in an impressive $16.75 million at number four. Lastly, Spies in Disguise opens with a $13.3 million weekend.

The News

Director Travis Knight (Bumblebee) has dropped out of the Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg lead Uncharted film. It is reported that this was due to scheduling conflicts.

Ryan Reynolds has confirmed that Disney is in early production of a third Deadpool film. It is yet unknown at this time if the film will keep the same continuity or R rating of the first two films.

Casey Kelderman found a love for film at a very early age. One of his earliest memories of watching movies was the original Star Wars trilogy on VHS. Casey graduated from The University of Sioux Falls in 2017. At USF Casey produced weekly movie reviews and hosted a radio show. He graduated with a degree in Media Studies. Skills he learned in college have allowed him to help create Back Lot 605. He has produced and directed 4 short films. His favorite films include Halloween, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Die Hard.
