Pixar Movies in Review

The Schmuck Club is back for the 32nd episode of the Back Lot 605 Podcast! This week we take a look at the entire catalog of Pixar movies in honor of the release of Toy Story 4. We also discuss some new trailers that we got this week, as well as some new and cancelled film projects.

The Box Office

In a disappointing weekend at the theaters, Men in Black: International opens at number one with $28.5. The MIB sequel/spinoff opens far below expectations, taking in almost half of what the previous films had in their opening weekends. Dark Phoenix takes a 70% drop in it’s second weekend out, pulling in $9 million.

The News

Rob Zombie has released the first official trailer for 3 From Hell. The film follows the events of the Firefly family after the events of The Devil’s Rejects. The film has no set release date.

Redrum. Redrum. Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for Mike Flanagan’s Doctor Sleep. Doctor Sleep is based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, which is a sequel to The Shining. Filled with Easter Eggs from Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, Doctor Sleep hits theaters November 8th.

Blumhouse has began production of a remake of Bob Clark’s Black Christmas. Sophia Takal is set to direct the film with Imogen Poots in the starring role. This Christmas slasher will hit theaters December 13.

Pixar Movies

Instead of doing a traditional ranking or a top ten list, we decide to give each film in the Pixar movies catalog some love. Hosts Casey Kelderman and Brian Mensing take a look at every Pixar film in the studios filmography. What are some of your favorites in the Pixar series? Are you excited for Toy Story 4? Let us know!
