This episode we are taking it back to the year 2000. Professional wrestling is at the height of its popularity, including the promotion World Championship Wrestling (WCW). In a turn to bring in more crossover success for the company, a film is made featuring many of their talent. The film was released on April 7th, 2000, and that film is Ready to Rumble.

Ready to Rumble stars David Arquette (Scream), Scott Caan (Varsity Blues), Oliver Platt (Lake Placid), and numerous WCW wrestlers. The film follows to hapless sewage workers who dream of one-day wrestling alongside their hero Jimmy The King. After The King is screwed out of his heavyweight title, the two blue-collar workers enact a plan to bring back their hero to the promised land atop the WCW mountain.

The film’s 20th anniversary just around the corner. We thought it prompt to give commentary to one of the best/worst pro wrestling films ever! So watch along with us. We give our insights, opinions, and random wrestling stories as we watch Ready to Rumble!
