Schmuck’s Choice: Part Deux

Resident Schmuck Chris Schlapkohl join hosts Casey Kelderman and Brian Mensing for Schmuck’s Choice: Part Deux! The group pits two films against each other in a one on one battle in which one film will disappear from film history. Which film is left standing? In addition, they also discuss the news and box office from the past week.

The Box Office

Toy Story 4 reins supreme at the box office with a $118 million opening weekend. The film is the highest grossing opening weekend of the Toy Story franchise, topping Toy Story 3. The remake of Child’s Play opens with $14 million, coming in below expectations. Dark Phoenix continues to take a dive at the box office dropping from over 1,500 theaters in one week.

The News

Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story gives us our first look at the Jets and Sharks from the upcoming remake. Ansel Elgort and Rachel Zegler star as Tony and Maria.

Blumhouse is set to begin production on a sequel to the 2018 Halloween. Jamie Lee Curtis and David Gordon Green are set to return. Rumor is the film is to take Universal Studios October 16, 2020 release date.

Matthew Vaughn’s Kingman prequel film has a new title and a set release date. The film will be titled The King’s Man and will release February 14, 2020. The film will explore the origins of the Kingman against the backdrop of World War I.

Schmuck’s Choice Part Deux

In this week’s game we pit two films in head to head battle in which one film will be removed from history. Subsequently some of our favorite films of all time we pit against each other in battle against one another. Some of this week’s battles include The Breakfast Club vs Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Dazed and Confused vs Almost Famous. Inception vs Memento. Let us know your picks as you listen along!
