Hello listeners and welcome to week number four of Brian De Palma month here at Back Lot 605! All month long we are celebrating De Palma December by discussing the acclaimed director’s biggest films, and unsung gems! The Fury is a 1978 supernatural espionage thriller directed by Brian De Palma, and written by John Farris. After his son is kidnapped by a secret government agency, combat trained hero Peter (Kirk Douglas) vows to find his son at any cost. The same agency begins testing and experiments on perceived psychic Gillian (Amy Irving), who develops a mental bond with Peter’s son Robin (Andrew Stevens). Peter and Gillian form an unlikely alliance to take down the agency, and it’s villainous leader Childress (John Cassavetes).
