The Visit – M. Night Shyamalan Series

The Visit. The movie that spark new life into the career of director M. Night Shyamalan. This week we are joined by South Dakota filmmaker Max Hofer to discuss the 2015 film alongside hosts Casey, Brian, and special guest co-host Sam Lenz! The Visit is a 2015 found footage thriller from writer/director M. Night Shyamalan and stars Olivia DeJonge, Ed Oxenbould, Deanna Dunagan, and Kathryn Hahn. Having never met their grandparents, young teens Becca and Tyler spend a week at grandma and grandpa’s after their mother had a falling out with the two. The young teen soon realize the strange behaviors of the grandparents might be something more sinister.

The Box Office

Opening at number one is Ryan Reynold’s Free Guy with $28.37 million. Don’t Breathe 2 takes in an impressive $10.62 million in it’s opening weekend. At number three is Jungle Cruise with $9.12 million. Respect takes in $8.81 million in it’s opening weekend taking the number four spot. The Suicide Squad drops to the number five spot with $7.47 million.

The News

Continuing last week’s South Park news, creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have purchased the restaurant Casa Bonita as featured on the show. A Home Alone revival sets a fall release date on Disney+, marking the third reboot for the series.

After rumors of a lawsuit against the ”Mouse House”, Emma Stone inks a deal to return in a sequel to this year’s hit Cruella. In casting news, Idris Elba joins the cast of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 as the voice of Knuckles. Sony has made some major changes to it’s fall release schedule. Venom: Let There Be Carnage moves to an October 15th release date, while Hotel Transylvania 4 will debut on Amazon Prime after a $100 million deal.
