Who Framed Roger Rabbit – Animation/Live Action Hybrid Series

In the final episode of our Animation/Live Action Hybrid Series we look at the ”big one”, ”the granddaddy of them all”, the film all others like it are compared to…Who Framed Roger Rabbit! We are joined by Mike’s Movies, Music & Wings aka Mr. Cash Right Now on Instagram to discuss the 1988 Robert Zemeckis classic starring Bob Hoskins, Christopher Lloyd, Roger Rabbit, and Jessica Rabbit. We also look at this week’s movie news and box office results!

Who Framed Roger Rabbit follows alcoholic private investigator Eddie Valiant (Hoskins) as he unravels the mystery behind the framing of the famed cartoon Roger Rabbit. The two polar opposites must team up to clear their name and avoid the treacherous Judge Doom (Lloyd) and discover where the loyalties of Jessica Rabbit lie.

The Box Office

He may not be ”the next Steven Spielberg” but M. Night Shyamalan is the king of the box office this weekend. Old opens at number one with $16.85 million. Also opening this weekend is Snake Eyes with $13.4 million at number two. At three is Black Widow with $11.62 million. Dropping to number four is Space Jam: A New Legacy with $9.58 million. Rounding out our top five is F9: The Fast Saga with $4.82 million.

The News

A new The Exorcist trilogy is coming from Universal with David Gordon Green (Halloween Kills) directing. The film will be a follow-up to the original film. Monkeypaw releases the first poster for Jordan Peele’s Nope.

Christopher Landon set to write and direct Netflix’s We Have A Ghost with stars Anthony Mackie and David Harbour.

Leslie Grace has won the casting battle for the role of Batgirl in HBO Max film of the same name. In further casting news, Parker Posey and Zoe Lister Jones added to the cast of Ari Aster’s Disappointment Blvd.
